Hyp with the hot take hammer.

First: You should judge the music you fucking
snowflakes. If you want to critizice the
band's political views or whatever do it on
forums but the score is for the music.
Second: Like Lvxfra said I hope you all don't
buy to big companies or give most death metal
albums good scores. You collaborate with way
worse things than a band with fash interviews
from 20 years ago or a degenerate obsessed
with Lolita themed porn, yet you choose to be
very conscious and vocal about this
because you've been brainwashed to believe you
live in a free, nice and caring system so you
have to virtue signaling your compromise with
its mantenance. Soon you'll realize
how stupid you are...
Third: That being said this could be their
weakest album in a long time. Need to give it
more spins
Edit: "if you don't stand against everything,
you can't stand against anything" I never said
that. You can do whatever you want pal, but
for all the reasons I stated above you will
look ridiculous, specially when you judge the
music based on your opinion of non-music
matters, so I will point that out. Again, you
choose what to be conscious of (or maybe they
have already chosen for you since you were
born and you haven't realized yet...)

edit II: yeah man, just here on sputnikmusic, virtual signaling, which is obviously the quickest
and most efficient way to become a cool guy!

I don't know guys, I think you all shy away from ambiguity a bit too much and want to have a coherent narrative, why? Mostly the ones who don't like their music point out how relevant it is that they are fascist scum (and vice versa) while the ones who do like their music downplay that aspect.
It is actually possible that both are true:
1. Deathspell Omega are musical geniusses.
2. As persons they are fascist scum and it does matter if someone is fascist scum.
Of course I can't be utterly sure about statement number 2, but there are just soo many indications that point towards it being true...

Hello I wrote this review in order to point both of those things out. I think it's quite apparent how talented they are, but the whoooole point is that giving this group money is a horrible idea.
>I can't be utterly sure about statement number 2
Well, for starters, basically every quote that's been thrown around here recently has been a real goddamn quote from the band. Their status as artists here becomes doubly important- anybody with a desire to consume music ethically should not give this band a single stream

yes, they are definitely fascist scum
only other plausible explanation could be that they are in fact pulling off one of music's great troll-like facades for the notoriety / craic / whatever... however, having read some of the early interview excerpts I feel this would be giving them far too much credit, lol

@Milo: Yeah, your interview acknowledged both. My criticism was rather directed at the last pages here and the soundoff feed for 'The Long Defeat'.
The lyrics on this album and also some more recent interviews could put the 'facist scum' stance in doubt for Hasjarl and the other french dude. Of course there is 0 doubt about Aspa being fascist scum and that he has been (and probably is, I just don't have any recent sources) an active neo nazi cadre. So Hasjarl et al at the very least are guilty of a) having been fascist scum in the past, b) supporting and promoting fascist scum.

Donchivo, I legitimately think their new album is poor. I think a lot of people have similar feelings about it, too. Don’t forget, people have known about Aspa for a long time now and those averages have barely dipped at all and if anything, are a little flattering in TFOP’s case. I could stick Kenose on now and it would be undeniable to me how good it is musically, despite the people involved. The Long Defeat on the other hand, I could barely make it through the first listen and subsequent listens reveal it to be even worse for me. The last two tracks are just shockingly bad and their brand of nihilism completely tedious at this point.
