Yep, yep! "Goodbye Sky Harbour" is a very strong contender for me too. They're all glorious.

Yeah Goodbye is one of the most tranquil songs I’ve ever heard (Never Meant also).

Yes. It’s a 4. Great album.

I had to because I have Menzingers Hello Exile at a 4, and this is about on that level right now. That has Anna and Strain Your Memory, which hit me in the feels about as much as anything on this, but this is more consistently good and has some stuff that is on another level.

Might drop them both back down though. Not sure. I have IB at a 4 and at the moment this is just slightly below it. If only because this lacks anything as warm as Sure & Certain for me. But if I did a track by track comparison of similar vibe songs, this might win out more... Dunno yet.

Criminal Energy > Get Right
It Matters > Delivery
Congratulations > Pass the Baby
Recommit > Pol Roger
555 > Pretty Grids
Not sure if there are any other songs that have clear analogues for me. Any thoughts?

Despite what you said earlier Sowing, this review should be featured!

New Menzingers not doing it for me. After the Party was so much better

I think this is a better album. But as I said on an earlier page, I find it hard to be consistent with my ratings when it comes to this band as compared with others. There's less room for them to impress me in a way they haven't before (though Congratulations does that and more).
I have always liked Menzingers as a fun punky folky rock band, but they've never really got me in the feels in a wistful kind of way. So Anna in particular really did impress me in a way they haven't before because it did just that. But I'm far from the biggest fan of the band.

The video for 555 sure is something else.

I can't get over Congratulations lol. The part where it starts to get all electronic and echoey and onward, all the way up to the breakdown, is orgasmic. Could see myself bumping this by year's end.

It might just be because the last album I really got into this year was Tool, but damn is it refreshing to have a fun short album to get into again.
Blink, Weezer and Green Day could all learn a thing from this album. Stop trying to pander to the current trends and just do what you do well. Great album.

I'm the oddball that preferred Invented to basically everything they've ever done. But I'm in the middle of my first spin and the opener and Criminal Energy are fantastic

I'm apparently an oddball too for being a huge atmosphere guy. I'm of the belief that Integrity Blues matched Futures in quality and that those are their two classics. This is still excellent though. Can't believe how consistent it is front to end.

I think that's a more common take than it might seem Sowing. seems like the fanbase is pretty split between those who consider Futures the peak and gravitate towards similarish albums like Invented and IB, the Bleed American and Chase This Light lovers who just want catchy bangers, and those who just love Clarity and want every album to be Clarity and we get it guys you love Clarity. then of course there's all the outliers but those are the main takes I see
