Liking this more than LP2 on first listen. I think LP1 will continue to grow on me though. I just love the atmosphere here.

Is LP2 really even worth checking out?

LP2 is often demonized and quite underrated, I think. It never reaches the heights of this one or LP1, but its a great collection of songs nontheless.

Cool. I’ll check it out. I have it so might as well.

All in all, these guys are pretty good and I love the emotions they can conjure and the nostalgia that some of the songs convey. That said, I do get bored with them sometimes. Wondering if they’ll grow on me more. Definitely liking this one the most.

Yeah, I generally listen to one of their albums, I'm never able to sit through more than that. I wouldn't say I find them "boring" but at the same time I can see where you're coming from lol. I do believe that this one is their best, and realized that while the first one is a classic, I used to rate it higher mainly because of nostalgia.

LP2 is just kind of silly

but this is right up there with LP1

LP2 has Home and Give Me the Gun which are both up to this one's standard, but it's also pretty boring at times and the instrumentation is mostly just disappointingly bland compared to what they usually do with it.

Edit: And I know what they were going for with Desire, but I don't know why they were going for it.

Album’s real solid. Love Uncomfortably Numb (too relatable), Doom in Full Bloom and Life Support. Heir Apparent and I Can’t Feel You also.

Only meh songs are Mine to Miss and Every Wave to Ever Rise (this really isn’t a bad song, but something about the melody irks me. Can’t put my finger on it — too saccharine or something).

Yeah, it seems to be a general favorite around here, but something about the sound/melodies of it turn me off.

Yeah this is the only one I was truly able to get into. I like the first one but found many of the songs pretty boring. Inconsistent for me, but with some fantastic songs and moments. This is basically solid all the way through (I don’t like Every Wave though).

butt.

Then again Hwir Apparent still sounds like a bad Steven Wilson song with better guitar arrangements

Yeah one of the more worthwhile 2019 albums in its way (my rating is kinda misleading)
