The skeleton arms scene made my blood run utterly cold, even though it technically looked silly when you think about it. I guess just the mindless cruelty behind it and the historical context made me so sick I couldn't sit through the rest of the film, and I'm a big fan of French extreme horror.

Just the effect of that ladies' flesh being shredded off her bones made me feel sick to my stomach. Just knowing that actually happened in real life to someone, regardless of how hokey it looked in the film, it was just sickening. It was by far the harshest film I ever tried to sit through.
