"Nice! I think it's def in my top 5 and I never would have guessed Emery would be so high on my list this year"

Emery is one of my favorite bands (The Question is a hard 5 for me) so it's not a huge surprise for me haha. But there was some stiff competition on the way up. Also, I'm still a diehard Name Your God stan but Streets of Gold is a close second.

"I still don't see what you all do in this...but I wish I did. (Streets of Gold is amazing btw)"

I wish I could spell it out. I might have to review this, even though it's a month late. It's just so emotionally visceral. It's the best "Christian with doubts" album I've ever heard, even over Come Now Sleep. And it's so tight musically -- not a second of music feels wasted, and even though songs are weirdly structured they all find a way to stick in your brain.

every year I'm like "I should write more here" and every year I don't, but I might break that streak for this one haha.

Off topic: their Christmas song "(Ho Ho Hey) A Way for Santa's Sleigh" wastes some amazing melodies on a jokey Christmas song

Man, Sins of Every Father is a jam. This does keep growing for sure. If the fat was trimmed off this album, this could be a solid 5.

Storm, if Hopesfall isn’t your AOTY I’m not sure the world makes sense anymore.

Lol. Arbiter probably is and should be my album of the year. After all I bought the album the vinyl and the shirt that has the album cover.

Hopesfall is probably my AOTY. What a crazy comeback. I've never looked into this band so maybe I'm gonna check this out soon. Every time I think I'm gonna run out of punk bands to find there's always one more huh.
