Jammed this and Cruelty earlier today for the first time in maybe 10 years. But this album is still as awesome!

"Funeral In Carpathia" has the sickest intro ever. The way it builds into that super melodic tremolo riff is just like "GUHHHHHHHHHH"

You listen to the 2 new songs they put out Brandon? New album is looking promising as fuck.

I listened to the Garden Triptych one, but not the new song. I'll listen to it now. I'm really stoked though for the new album though, I already started fleshing out intro ideas for a review (I'm assuming it will at least be a 3.5, so if it follows that path, it should fit haha)

New song is even better than Right Wing of the Garden Tripytch, which was really good too. I still have a soft spot for Thornography, but if the whole album is as good as what they've released so far then it's gonna be their best since Midian.

Needless to say I'm pumped lol.

Dude, I love Thornography. So many great riffs on that album. But, DAMN, this song is killer! Definitely better than Right Wing of the Garden Triptych. That orchestral breakdown, during the second half makes my hair stand up on end in a great way.

Yeah bro Thorngraphy gets way too much hate.

New shit sounds like a perfect mixture of the atmosphere of albums like Dusk and Cruelty with the riffs of Thornography so I have very high expectations.

I'm glad they brought back more classical influenced symphonic elements. Also yes, the guitar work was killer. I liked Paul Allender because he was a COF staple, but in my opinion, his guitar work was generally pretty boring. My favorite Cradle of Filth guitar team was Gian Pyres and Stuart Anstis. I think their work was a duo is super underrated honestly. It bridged the gap between black metal, classic metal, and gothic metal seamlessly. You never really knew where one started and one ended.

Agreed hard bro I loved Paul, but I'd rather have Gian. Wish he was still around, but the new guys seem to be fitting in well.

Yes, definitely. There is something old school Filth about his playing, and I enjoy it a lot.

Yeah they've said for quite a while that new stuff would sound like older Filth, but this actually does have an old school vibe to it. Gonna rule so hard.

I've never heard of their current guitar players, they seem pretty new to the scene. They're certainly proving themselves though in these new songs. Paul's guitarwork was never anything that special; it was really good, and catchy if nothing else.

I like his playing overall, but it was getting pretty stale on the last few albums. I'm glad they got some new blood, I think it's (obviously) helping.

Agree with both of you. Paul has written some catchy riffs over the years, but it was time for a change. Dani def made the right choices with who he replaced Paul with. Same with Talons though I've never heard of either one of them, but they're doing a damn good job so far I'd say.

They sound like they grew up listening to classic COF, but added their own flair as well.

I was pretty much thinking that exact same thing. m/
