So fucking pissed I missed the Neurosis, Converge, Amenra tour when they came to Philly. That would've been a show of a lifetime.

I went for Neurosis and Converge thinking that Amenra was going to be a nice lil' bonus treat...they ended up being the sleeper hit band for me those two nights in Brooklyn.

yeah when I saw them in philly I thought they were easily the best of the night. converge is one of my favorite bands but jacob’s live vocals miss the mark for me a lot of the time. neurosis was incredible as well but man, Amenra is an experience unlike many others. One of the only things that’s rivals it for me was seeing Lingua Ignota on Saturday. Genuinely the most gripping and emotional performance i’ve ever witnessed. She had people crying and the applause at the end lasted quite a long time

I was shut out of that show along w/The Body cause it sold out and also for a personal matter but I’d love to see her live at some point. I’ve seen videos of her performance and I think I’d be having goosebumps throughout the whole thing. Her contributions to the recent Body album are one of its highlights for me personally.

yeah I had goosebumps more times than I thought possible - and I agree she really carried that album and I love the body. As for the rest of that show Big Brave was boring/bad and The Body played so loudly you could only tell what song they were playing by the drums (and I don’t think they played a single song off the new album)

the body is fucking brutal live. literally a total endurance test.

I’ve seen The Body once w/Full of Hell on the tour for the One Day I Will Ache collab and once on their own supporting Alcest which still remains one of the most bizarre mix of bands I’ve seen on a bill. I think they sounded even more heavier and punishing using just noise/power electronics live (as was the case w/the Alcest support set) than acoustic drums and electric guitar but it appears from recent images on the current tour that they’ve reintroduced guitar and drums again live which is a bit surprising considering they declared that they’d stop touring w/guitars and drums a few years back.

i saw them a few years ago and it was pretty much all electronic. saw a couple people passing out up front during their set. not sure if there were other factors involved but their set just wore everyone down physically. just so crushing.

I've only seen the lyrics for the videos, but had the diaken lyrics too. That songs about when colins kid got a brain tumour I read in an interview. Heart breaking.
