this album's instrumental quality and cohesion can't be questioned but for the production. I might just be high but i can't find credits anywhere, very curious who is responsible for this scuffed crockery or if it was a byproduct of crowdfunding and the band having even greater creative control on making things worse. They kinda need a bloke who just sits there watching their jams, saying "yeah yeah nah hiring a lentil soup for the cleans might be more effective at this stage" or "nah nah try that agaen, but instead of fluffing around like an unscrupulous fruitcake, screaming about celestial moths pissing onto each other in a collective effort to transcend even your thesaurus-- just replace the lyrics with your love for a good beer by the beach. easy!"

The production on this to me, sounds better than the last album.
The drums are more or less the same, but everything else (especially the vocals) is an improvement.

This is better than the last album in every way possible. Not better than Portal though.

Citadel is immaculate. Debut slays, of course. Haven't placed this album somewhere yet, really dig the first three songs. The bass is great. Am I the only one that things Eyrie in the middle sounds like somtehing off a Scale the Summit song?

So I've just finished listening to this album (and band) through for the second time, and I like it, but fuck me do the drums not half kill the fuck out of this record, the kick drum sounds like pure shit and the album definitely shines more when the blast beats are turned down a touch and lets the rest of the album breath more, also more harmonising between the violin and guitars please like on Intra Venus, and I second what somebody said earlier in the thread about if the cleans were done by a mezzo-soprano/soprano (Simone Simons would be my pick) the album as a whole would be better.
Anyway I'm off to listen to the rest of their stuff.

The Migration has a way better production than this, just a fact really, i don't really see that comparison between the 2 albums to be honest, is that the clean or heavy section of Eyrie?

to make myself clear, I'm just talking about that bit after 4:26 where the guitar tone and style sounds really like StS.
