I'd suggest listening to You Fail Me, probably AWLWLB too.

As much as I adore You Fail Me, I don't think it's a good accessing point for these guys. AWLWLB and Axe to Fall are easily the most accessible and from there if it grows into a liking then continue venturing. However, the song that got me into Converge was Eagles Become Vultures so who knows

Backwards works for sure. Also, YFM Redux is sweet & more accessible than the original I bet.

ikr their albums were always like 3 years apart, I was starting to get scared they'll never release new shit, so my hype meter is off the charts right now, can't wait

This feels really overrated... I love Converge but I expected a lot more out of this.

I think YFM, AtF and AWL are their most accessible, but if he liked this then I think YFM would be perfect next because it has a lot of similarities. The title track is very much a YFM type song. This isn't as metallic as AtF or AWL either, so that's why I suggested going a different route.

Eagles Become Vultures was what got me into Converge also and while that was the first Converge song I heard, I first knew about Converge through of all places, my library where I found a copy of AWLWLB circulating in the CD rack and that was about 4 years ago.

IDK, I'm biased to say YFM was accessible for me personally starting off. TBH had I started off with Jane Doe, I probably wouldn't have gotten into the band as "easy" as I did since this band/style of music was all new and unfamiliar territory to me at the time.

I started with JD & it wasn't exactly a smooth introduction. Eventually it worked but definitely took a while.

I started with Jane Doe and loved it, heaviest thing I'd heard previously being Thrice

I started with Jane Doe and it definitely took a while. I actually think I would have liked You Fail Me (or more precisely the Redux thing) more immediately actually. Also liked Aimless Arrow immediately ha
