Jammed it again today and I thought it had so much wasted potential. What Noctus pointed out is really interesting. I went and checked out some of the isolated tracks and the example he gave was point on.
Cut out 15-20 mins (some editing needed especially on Awaken and Eternal Darkness) , re-mix and master it, and imagine it to be released by some band name AutumnMoon to remove the hype and it would definitely be a great record

i did (at least partially) actually fix the issues and made the inaudible parts audible. hit me up if you want that remaster.

album is stupid, any album could be good if you change it into a different album

Damn I don't know how but this is still growing on me. I still think some length editing is mandatory, but if you can get passed some of the over repeated motifs and strange mixing decisions its pretty good.

In other words, avg would be way higher than it is if this record was listened to and judged with the mindset and expectations of a BM album for example as the negative points mentioned above would not affect one's enjoyment.
Don't get me wrong, it still is inferior to Time I and the S/T, but still I'm enjoying it more on each listen

I agree. This has more in common with a Summoning album production and songwriting wise than Finnish melodeath.

They wish this could be compared to the worst of Summoning

Yeah s/t is amazing but the others can FOAD.

They never achieved the cohesiveness of s/t. That might be because 90% of that album was written 20 years ago when jari wasn't out of fuel.
Since then he's been masking his mediocre songwriting with glitter breakdowns. subpar acoustic interludes, multiple key changes and puke inducing climaxes to make it appear like a masterful piece of fart. Compare this horseshit to Sleeping stars or Sadness and Hate from the debut which have similar structures. Those were done tastefully and you can tell how genuine jar was with his songwriting.

he overcompensates for the fact it has no good riffs by making every single component in the mix fight for prominence and it just turns out an incohesive mess of shitty ideas

Not a big fan of these guys, but I saw them last night and gotta say they put on a really good show.

Yeah sawthem last year and the show was cool indeed. Their other two albums are way better than Forest Seasons anyway.

Nah, first half of Time is excellent as well.
This on the other hand is just a little bit too drawn out to justify the track lengths, although Loneliness is a great song.
