The goal here is to say more with less – there’s no point in simply rehashing what we did with ‘Winter’ and making another album with huge, winding songs – this time, we were determined to condense things, to distil what we need to say into more concise pieces.

This honestly might be my favourite atmo (or any) BM album ever, perfectly balanced between interesting song-writing, musicianship & of course, atmosphere. Disclaimer: I’m not exactly a connoisseur.

Also the past 4 Panopticon albums would prob be up your alley. I’d say Wolves in the Throne Room and Agalloch too but I’m gonna assume you’ve heard them already.

Oh yeah, heard of a couple of those bands, will check. Yes, heard those (Agalloch fan definitely, ‘Marrow’ is close to this honestly, which is cool as it’s considered their ‘most BM’ album). Need to check more WITTR as only heard ‘Diadem’, don’t think the next one was on Spotify at the time. I enjoyed Diadem but need to revisit.
