"how are you guys really gonna rate this 3.5? like what better death metal albums have you heard lately? these guys are the kings of death metal and they're pretty near the top of their game here. to imply that it gets very significantly better than this quite often is a crazy assertion to me"

Well I can probably agree with a 3.5 since this isn't their best album or even top 3. A 4.5 indicates an album that's nearly a classic, and nearly a pillar of the genre. I don't think this comes close to being a 'best of death metal' contender, but I'm looking at this as an all-time overview, not recent years.

Yeah this is like middle of the road Immo, but it still slays hard.

Guy who's heard 200 death metal albums in his life max can quantify the peak of the genre. Good ole Sputnik logic.

their first 5 are all better than this, as well as Majesty and Decay. says a lot about this band that something so low in ranking is this good.

the correct ranking in case anyone was wondering:

CTAWB > Here In After > Failures for Gods > Majesty and Decay > Dawn of Possession > Unholy Cult > Atonement > Kingdom of Conspiracy > Harnessing Ruin = Shadow In the Light
