I love this album but even I agree the middle part kind of drags. HOWEVER riffs from those songs appear rent free in my head so my brain must like them more than I do listening to this lol

Yeah that's the one thing that makes me teeter between 4.5-5.0 for this album is Ultimate Artificr-Pteropticon-Psychotropia is where it starts to feel a tad redundant musically (and story-wise, all 3 are kinda just like "ok we're killing everyone now"). Buuut each of those songs are fucking great lol and Psychotropia is probably the most essential of the album's 2nd act, I'm hard pressed to say they shouldn't be here

Completely agree! Took a little while for Cyngus to click but now it's one of my faves. I also find the middle isn't QUITE as strong, but it still slaps, and when the Pillars intro hits it always knocks me dead. Phenomenal little record right here dudes m/
