The fact that this band still causes controversy tells me they are doing art right. People still love to hate on this band, call their music structureless noise, call Greg a Patton ripoff, etc. If you don't like it, that's fine, but for what this kind of band is they have accomplished so much in 20 years that most bands will never do. Also, being compared to Patton is a pretty nice compliment, but Greg is his own vocalist and only has small similarities to Patton. Don't get how people can't tell the difference at this point lol.

Already gave you one reason, Gregs lyrics got awful, also his cleans got insufferable, and op was super over produced and drowned in all of the gimmicks dep crafted themselves over the year and then they tried to remedy that with the follow up by stripping their sound down again but it just came off as a boner-less version of their early work
