I'll actually be upset if it isn't huge for them. Given the resurgence of pop-punk, the blink-182 involvement, and how big their Ocean Ave anniversary tour was, it'll make no sense if Better Days doesn't do exceedingly well (unless of course it ends up being ass, but as others have stated, early signs are that it'll be very good).

I thought their bid for a mainstream release was Lift a Sail and that was their worst album since Ryan joined the band

I mean...maybe? I've never once thought of Lift a Sail as a play for the mainstream. Considering 95% of the population at-large knows them solely for Ocean Ave, anything that deviates from pop-punk is if anything an experimental record.

This will be yellowcard's third bid for mainstream cred if we are being real with ourselves.

Lights and sounds was trying to cater to alt rock at the time

Lift a sail was trying to cater to the pop rock crowd

New album is trying to capitalize on the barker sound.

I'm not mad about any of it but let's call a spade a spade.

Their most mainstream album in terms of success was Ocean Avenue

And it's not even close
