I'm still discussing the music, you just can't stand it when people disagree with you
|

This band is getting to thrice-level of being overrated. Look at the rating distribution for their albums. I mean come on they are not that good, even if judge Judy says so. It is possible to not like something everyone else loves, rowan

the whole last page is literally you being shocked at people disagreeing with you. I'm fine with you being a contrarian if you have a basis for your arguments which you clearly don't considering how much you use the word pretentious

"I mean come on they are not that good"
do you read anything you write dude?
|
| |
I don't really use that word a lot, just mostly when discussing bowie's pretentious "blackstar". I said what I disliked about it. Shit if anything I talked more about the music than anyone on the last page

That sentence was so I could pen in a cute little joke ffs. Smdh

to be fair Gyro was accused of trolling because he stated his opinion and that is when he got started

there are too many musical flourishes and explorations into other genres to call it generic alt rock. if youre calling it that then you obviously havent listened to Mr Usher, for a start.

I really haven't been able to stop listening to this. This is my favorite act, which I'm still alarmed by.

I think the instrumentation in the chorus for Gloria is really cool and I love more than anything when Casey really belts it, he's becoming one of my absolute favorite vocalists

I caved and used my digital download, since I won't be getting my vinyl for a few more days. After one listen, I enjoyed it, but not immensely. However, I think it'll take several listens to sink in, going off of what I've seen in this thread.
I'll refrain from rating for now, but goddamn, I really enjoyed Mr. Usher and Blood.

Blood is probably my 2nd favorite track, that chorus is phenomenal

Really need to check this guy out

I'd recommend checking The Colour Spectrum first seeing as its a much smaller time investment to get a huge pay off relative to having to slowly crawl through his act series which I myself, despite how good I think the Colour Spectrum is, am struggling to find the motivation to do
|

Color spectrum is alright. Black was actually my favorite. I have just never gotten into this band too much, but I have always enjoyed what I have listened to from them.

This new album isn't too far from the aesthetics of the Black EP so you might like this. It's quite dark in its atmosphere, and the first song has some electronic elements like the Black EP. Saying that, though... the comparisons pretty much end there.

Feather if you liked Black you should check out The Moon/Awake, The Most Cursed of Hands, and The Flame-The March on this one. This album seems like the first he's dipped back into that tone/approach outside of Wait from Act IV
Edit: by "tone/approach" I meant darker atmospheres and some of the same instrumentation

YEAH MR. USHER ALWAYS GETS HIS MAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN
This is a grower for me but I'm loving it now. Right behind Act II for me.

I don't really see this as close in sound to Black.
Act II is a really good starting point. I also adore Act IV (and am starting to dig on this), but I feel like you need to know I-III to really appreciate IV and V.
