While I obviously love this album, people that are criticizing it have to remember it's their first album in five years. I'm sure they are rusty in some aspects. While, it's not their best album, I think it is a perfect comeback album and I still think they have better ones in them in the future. This will probably settle at a 4.5 for me after my hype wears off.

Well some of them did stop playing music. And it absolutely means they might be rusty in working together and writing. and this is a great album after a hiatus in my opinion.

I'm guessing fans that've waited out the hiatus are annoyed with getting the band's most mainstream sounding release yet after the hype, but it measures up to their previous releases even if they're all probably better, besides the debut.

I'd say that some of these songs are their best in years. black honey, hurricane, the long defeat, death from above. but yea overall probably doesn't measure up. doesn't seem so far like it will have the staying power.
