The group is already a staple of 2010s listening. There's so much material to work with.

I would say Exmilitary was groundbreaking for it's time. Kind of surprised I haven't heard any DG rip offs yet.

"Kind of surprised I haven't heard any DG rip offs yet." But what the hell was Yeezus and that Tyler, the Creator album then?

this, NAHs some weird producer whos been just dropping a bunch of instrumental tapes for a few years and then introduced a vocalist. music is getting harder to find because he constantly nukes his bandcamp and website.

Yeezus is a DG ripoff, ok Fantano, go back to YouTube.

this seems to be a compilation of random selected works from all NAHs tapes, might be a better place to start.

Oh cmon. There's no way you can listen to something like Black Skinhead and Send it Up and not think about the abrasive synth/electronic production of DG, or even any other industrial hip hop acts prior like Saul Williams or Clipping

You're giving DG way too much credit if that's the only influence you think of when you hear those tracks my friend. That or you haven't listened to a whole lot of music.

"You're giving DG way too much credit if that's the only influence you think of when you hear those tracks my friend. That or you haven't listened to a whole lot of music." Or you're giving too much credit to Kanye too? I mean there's obviously heavy trap, hip hop, and house/dance music but the primary genre that jumps out on the two is industrial. The album as a whole ranges from soul, to rock, and yes occasionally industrial but at that time when the album came out, it was pretty obvious that he was trying very hard to imitate the underground industrial hip hop scene. If it isn't industrial hip hop on those tracks in particular then what the hell is it then? I'm not giving either side too much or too little credit, I'm simply saying that in the context of when the album dropped, the connection of Yeezus and Death Grips was very flagrant

I say we just make a new genre, call it Gripcore, and then slap all the death grips, nahs, blackie all caps no spaces, and kanyes in there and call it a day.

Plastic that's a very different explanation than simply saying "Kanye ripped off DG." I would largely agree with what you said except that underground hip hop doesn't equate to DG. Not that you were making such an absolute statement, just tempering your comment to fit my opinion more accurately.

if you use industrial beats you are ripping off dg now haha yeah totally
