This is my thought on Orchid. Morningrise was a lot more cohesive, but not nearly as cohesive as MAYH or Still Life. Morningrise was my first Opeth album and it changed my life. There is most certainly a bias in there.

Morningrise is definitely incoherent and disjointed with some very awkward transitions but somehow that doesn't effect my enjoyment of it too much. Astonishing how much they improved on those aspects here though.
