Interpretation is great, it's part of what makes opinions worth hearing, but I think he didn't bother to interpret this outside of "edgy."
For example, saying the Microsoft Sam(antha) lines came out of some teenage goth's diary? Far from it. Yes, it's dark and dramatic, but the wordplay is intelligent and the rhythm of the delivery is interesting. One of the things I liked about this album is that the dark themes seemed genuine when, say, someone like early Tyler was praised for what was clearly a fabricated and DEFINITELY intentionally edginess.

You have a point Chuck. The speed with which people demand reviews these days inevitable leads to premature conclusions. As with everyone on this site, some of the stuff I love now took months to click and some stuff I loved instantly has really grown off of me. That's how it goes I guess.

Hehe tree I appreciate the devil's advocate and you may be right. Maybe the last track is trying to convince me of that and I'm willfully ignoring it. I dunno, in the end, I'm not saying it's super deep or majorly profound - any of that stuff. But I do think it goes beyond edgy meme rap that Anthony paints it as.
I didn't even like Mista Thug Isolation all that much and haven't listened to much other LUM so I'm no expert but I also don't have a strong agenda to defend LUM either.

I apologise if I ended up directing that wholly at you, it was more a critique on something I'd seen on this site regarding Fantano a few times before. And yeah, I'm cool with the b-sides conjecture, but the analogy interpretation seemed completely off the mark, huh? Oh well, though.
@Spacesh1p: I understand, and I do think that's fair criticism. I think its one of those cases where the critic's bothered by a single personal aspect he feels he can't overlook, which is understandable. That said, I think we both feel he misinterpreted certain things to hell. I said this to deezer, too, but I'm sorry if it seems I placed that entirely on you.
