He also ABSOLUTELY dumbed down the splashes and bell work that makes the og so fuckin crazy which is weird, he still did it on the live album in 2020

I dont know that I’d call it processed, but I know what you’re saying. Haven’t listened closely with headphones to say if he dumbed it down but it didn’t sound like it to me

As bad as I thought the decision was to redo this, I’m very pleasantly surprised and excited now

Listened to it in my car and the drums are a little less irritating loud as fuck, overall sounds pretty good. Still puzzled about him simplifying some of the fills tho

I'm not a drummer and frankly don't listen for every little bell strike but doing a quick A/B I didn't hear changes.

Another hit, however this one is a little too polished for me. Lacks grit or something

Josh sounds incredible though haha

Yeah Josh sounds good. This is gonna be the best thing they've released in like 10 years.

I like this record but starting w Constellations this band spearheaded the trend of overproduced melocore. Idk if I can forgive them for the aftermath of that ):

Just checked the barbarian rework, Jake just does not cut it compared to the OG. Maybe like 15 years ago he would have had the chops but not anymore

I've literally always felt this way. He was strong with his own material, but you cannot fuck with Josh's work on Thrill Seeker. And I couldn't fuckin' believe how good Josh still sounds. We really missed out on a good one with him retiring.
