There are definitely a handful of standout tracks that blow me away like OM couldn't manage.

i definitely wasnt expecting that simple hardcore punk power chord progression in the middle of Bombgnasher.

"Ok circlejerkers, is it as good as this one?"

yes

it's mostly the same. a bit more variety and a little crazier but mostly violence

I'd give the new one a 3.7 whereas this was like a 3.9

Orange Mathematics = grooviest, most straightforward

Sectioned= dirtiest/darkest, probably best album from a wholistic perspective

Unloved=heaviest, most experimental

After a few listens apiece I prefer this to Sectioned.

Sectioned is great too but they leave no breathing room at all and becomes very one-dimensional. Frontierer are a full frontal assault too but they take moments to slow it down and change the pace at times.

yeah the new record has more diversity too. some melodic moments, more electronic stuff, a slow chuggy groove song. still wish it had a little more but it feels the most diverse out of the three.

I would say quite the opposite, when orange mathematics came out, I had heard NOTHING as heavy in the world as this shit, it still rocks my shit to this day. new one feels like a lot of the weaker, less groovy parts on here rehashed over some crazy electronic parts, and while they fit, and while the album sounds good, it seems a lot less inspired than this

the new one is a little less inspired in the sense it's very similar, but idk they dialed everything up a notch on the new one and it's sick. the more i listen the more the songs distinguish themselves and the more i love it.

might just be cause I'm only on my first listen definitely, but the first 5 songs sound like they got the same recurring groove, which isn't catching me in the slightest, running through all of em. ain't gonna give up on it yet tho

yeah the first few are a little same-y but they still rip. the middle is where the new one shines. heartless 101 to electric gag is incredible

Bunsen hits you like a fucking sledgehammer to the chest. UNLOVED has more electronic/noise stuff occurring during the breakdowns to make the songs sound even more insane.
