Please tell me if this is complete bullshit, but I've always thought that these guys not only created their albums' lyrics based on Watership Down, but they also linked the titles of the albums with the overall feeling the music conveys.

"Owsla" basically means "the elite guards of the warren", and you get a fucking brutal crust/d-beat that does not wait to kick you in the head.

"Elil" means enemy, and here the music is ominous and waiting to violently pounce on you, coupled with a slight sense of bleak melancholy, as if you were doomed to have an enemy.

"Inlé" means death. Inlé is fucking depressing, and at times it sounds like Alex is on the verge of crying, eg when he's shouting "The king is dead" in Republic of Heaven.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I like this idea.

This band didn't hit me as hard as I was hoping/expecting, but I'm glad I checked out their albums and read up on them. This album is really good, and I'll be returning to it in the future. The first two are all right; I actually liked the first one a bit more than the second one. I would describe this band as being the halfway point between post-rock and post-metal.

i think only elil can be really described like that. owsla has heavy crust punk leanings while this is some nasty doom/post metal, the emphasis is not really on post rock on either album. nitpicking but yeah

I actually have no idea what crust punk is other than hearing the term in passing, but yeah your description seems accurate.

Yeah there's some crust in Owsla and the post-rock is only really there in Elil. It's quite an interesting progression from one album to the next.

I couldn't deny the perfection any longer. I've always enjoyed this, but it's been a gradual journey from a strong appreciation to true love.

Does anyone listen to songs from this or just jam in its entirety every time like I do with pretty much all post-metal albums?
