I'm stoked that I can actually talk about this band without a quivering lip.

New song is ace, but I do like coming to this album when I just want straight forward songs with no concept. Lyrically it's pretty honest and mixes in some of that Coheed goodness.

So I finally saw them last Friday after waiting 8 years for them to visit my city. Pretty amazing. Instrumentation on point live. Played something from every album. Nice little atmospheric interludes between some tracks. Didn't see Claudio's face the whole night because he let his hair down and spent so much time hovering over the mic.
I was a bit put off by how many "big" moments he couldn't sing because...maybe he was out of breath? He'd just stand back and not sing sometimes, when he's the backbone of the melody in a chorus. Not moments where the audience would sing, which was insane, I've never seen that many people belt out the lyrics, but even things like the chorus too. Maybe age is catching up? There was also next to no audience interaction. The other dudes spoke once thanking the audience 3/4 of the way through, and Claudio just thanked everyone for coming halfway through and that was all we heard from him. No encore too, which kind of sucked. They're probably just...tired at this point.
But man it was good to see them play some of my favorites. The Crowing is fucking sick live.

Nomos - I've seen them 4 times and every time was pretty much like you described... they're definitely past their prime, but it's still a good show.

Ah well, glad I saw them before they grew too tired of the material and slowed down. I didn't hear a single mistake instrumentally, it was great.

@nomos2 and Kalopsia
That's so strange because every time I've seen them they've been super high energy, which is crazy considering that my shows are Denver, where people tend to lose their breath quickly. I mean, during their IKSSE:3 Neverender they played three encores. Claudio does get acid reflex, so it could be that that was acting up. My other guess is that they might be a little worn. They just got off a massive tour with Taking Back Sunday, so they're probably just feeling the wears of touring.
Definitely still going strong though.

Dang good to know, maybe they were just getting tired, as this was the second show of a brand new tour after they just finished another tour.
As someone who actually suffers a great deal of pain, daily, for most of my adult life, with acid reflux complications, I can certainly sympathize with that too.
