If my skin weren't thoroughly tanned from sunbathing you'd be able to tell that I'm blushing right now.

"
No"
Yea
"If my skin weren't thoroughly tanned from sunbathing you'd be able to tell that I'm blushing right now."
I'm still pissed it's supposed to be fall now but it's still sunny all the god damn time and then I creep out of my cave in expectations of fog and darkness and I forgot my sunglasses and I want to rip people's ears off.

Leaves fallin an turning pretty orange where I'm at. It was like summer and then all of a sudden BAM leaf sidewalks! Got to run in the autumn rain today too m/

"Did you it hurt your feelings enough to dig up four year old irrelevant twitter comments that he made?"
lol also worth noting the person he called a "faggot" is a close friend of the band and that the tweets were dug up by some pussy on /mu/ who wanted to ruin someone's career

Yeah, haven't had that much luck yet. I've had enough summer-y shenanigans for now.
For some reason, summer can also be much more depressing than winter.

this trend of digging old as balls shit to stir up even fabricated controversy really needs to stop

With this sort of bs witch hunt all he really has to do is publicly say "What I said was dumb and childish, my bad." and he'll be fine. Slap on an "I XOXO the LQBT community" and he'd be golden.

It's all flavor of the week garbage that will be long forgotten by next week.
i'd be surprised if he made any kind of public statement about the whole thing.

headlines say people are trying to get the band pulled from some festivals because of it though, so at least a short "my bad" tweet would be good.

are you going to see them in dc in november with envy?

Im seeing them with Tribulation and Envy in Philly.
Really hyped but crossing my fingers the balance out the setlist across their discog rather than focus exclusively on NB

If they don't play The Pecan Tree I'll cry. I mean it's a Deafheaven so I'll probably be crying anyway, but these will be a different kind of tears.

I'm still surprised I'm on the contrary end of the avg sput opinion here. Did not expect that 4/5 to hold very long at all. Band really know how to cause controversy.

Hmmm I think most people recognize that even a (in their opinion) subpar deafheaven record is still a pretty good album, so I'm not surprised the rating is still skewed towards a 4.
One thing I've noticed is a lot of the sub-4 ratings are from people who post a lot, so there is likely a large silent portion of sputnik users who love this album
That being said, I bet this'll end up averaging out to a 3.8 or so

I have not rated this yet; not sure what I think about it as a whole. I like Luna and Gifts as much as Dreamhouse and The Pecan Tree though, if that says anything.

What Essence said above. I agree with many criticisms, namely that the songwriting overall seems rushed, some of the solos/riffs are underwhelming, that there are anti-climactic endings to a bunch of tracks. Regardless, Deafheaven's music is so visceral and overwhelming to me that I'm in love with the record, even though it could have been better (by which I mean it could have been a classic).
