instrumentally they were pretty solid tbh. it's just that the spoken-word vox didn't suit them at all

First song is still so fucking gorgeous. That transition when the warmer guitar comes in leading to the oooh oohs omg

The first song is probably the best on the album. I love how they switched up the vocal style and went with almost a more "generic" emo sound but it really works well for them tbh. It's just a shame they don't go with that vocal style more often.

mental health/wendover/we need more skulls is still the best part of the album

I've been looking at my ratings for my top 20, I don't think this is going to make it.

These overwrought, 90s alt detritus, fluff, all surface no relatable feeling horseshit bands don't half get on me tits but this album and the last one by these jangle fairies are a great listen.
The 14yr old me thinks this is aoty

Yeah it has its moments. It's corndog yank city and I think I'd only truly get it if I was ducking bullets on my way to an English class taught wrong but yeah it's alright.

This band are a bit different, they craft their twaddle a lot better than the rest of their ilk. There's a waterboatmens imprint on the waters surface inkling of depth.
Mental Health is fucking bilge though.

beautiful poetic image of the waterboatsmen zak.

worst band name of all time the only possible reason for picking it must have been to get cockney ticket touts scream it out in that market trader style

the phrases 'jangle fairies' and 'twaddle' are making me worry no good things will come from me listening to this
