Anyway, as much as I do love this album, it's definitely a step down the dangerous path of self-importance that's destroyed many pop-punk bands in the past. Unfortunately, I can see that blowing up in their face if they continue down said path, but for now I'll enjoy the album.

After many listens, album is enjoyable. Still have my own flaws with certain tracks just feeling like background noise, but almost all music has that sometimes.

Very true, I'm a little different in that I'm a huge fan of the background noise aspect of the album. I've been listening to a lot of Brian Eno lately, so I appreciate their venture into a more textured sound.

This has been the most disappointing album of the year for me, for sure. I really hope it grows on me -- The Greatest Generation was a hard 5 for me, but I think I'm sitting at a 3 on this one.

Yeah I'm feeling the same. TGG was like 4.5 for me but I might bump this down to a 3. Apart from Cigarettes really not feeling any of these anymore.

Such a horrible letdown, I'm trying really hard to not bump my rating down again.

Can't believe this is still at a 4.1 -- and I'm a Wonder Years fan.

More clean, over exentuated vocal pop pap that douses problems with sunshine and frilly bits and somehow has the ability to hit so hard emotionally laying it bear to a 9yr old whose just got a bollocking off their mum.
Now let's all sing the chorus ' woaahhhh ohhhh, woaahhhh '
Fuck off.

More or less dude.
I need me tunes with integrity, anger, passion delivered barbed while their spat in me face with bile. This is sung by a fella whose problems have stemmed from living in carnival town and the Candy floss machine is broken.

Complete bell end. Obvious mental health issues and had fuck all to say. Again one for the funfair.
Joe Strummer is more me cup of tea.

London Calling took decades to weave its magic.
The debut is top ten greatest ever for me.

Give us an example dude? Authenticity is definitely the mark to go by with anything. The lack of it is why there is such a deluge of drivel knocking around.

Zen arcade is classic. I can take or leave Black Flag and a fair bit of the hardcore stuff, again some of it just comes across as total bullshit.
I'll give dropdead a whirl.
