(interlude 3) is the best one so far

Yeh maybe they lose a little out of context and don't have enough meat to stand on their own. The water rhythms in 2 are genius.

Interlude 2 is my favorite, and that’s one of the many reasons. Everything about that interlude is pure genius. However the beauty of 3 and 4 are staggering.

Random thought, is ‘Astral Abortis’ named after Birth Pains of Astral Projection? He is a fan. Could just be a coincidence.
I might bump my rating, album is such an interesting journey & the production somehow holds it together through all the stylistic changes.

Man this has never clicked with me as much as KD stuff. The heavy sections kinda sound a little corny to me, although there are some fuckin beautiful highlights here too

Weird, this is some of the only material of maudlin/KD that doesn't feel at all corny.

I haven’t heard all of Kayo Dot’s stuff but what I have heard ranges from amazing to fucking terrible.

Yeah I mean I’ve only heard 3 KD albums so far so I can’t judge too hard I guess. Hubardo and Choirs are fantastic (especially Hubardo) but Gamma Knife is straight garbage.

they're like the audio version of a homeless person's crazy ramblings, in a good way

Gamma Knife isn't bad, c'mon. At least not that bad.

The track Gamma Knife is great. The stripped down piano only version of Gamma Knife is even better. The album Gamma Knife though? It’s a hit and miss for me.

If I've only heard Choirs, should Hurbado be next on the list?

@AcmeApathyAamok
Both Gamma Knife and Lethe are excellent. The rest of the album, ehhhhhhh, it is pretty much a miss.
@Demon of the Hell
Probably, if you want to keep listening to the metal side of Kayo Dot then yeah, that's the one that should be next.
