Eh I dunno, the first disc Stickles is indecipherable half the time. The Monitor may have rougher production, but at least you could understand the lyrics.

I thought the vocals were a bit better on The Monitor

not all vocals where a guy screams towards the destruction of his vocal chords have to be emotional or passionate

he sounds more a like some drunk guy in a pub tbh

that's kinda what he sounded like before this and it was actually pretty awesome. this time around his vox are a lot harsher which makes it sound more balanced imo

I'll report back, as long as I get Hampton Roads I'll be pleased, and it made the last two set lists so here's hoping...

Would also love Lost My Mind (+@) but that might be too hopeful

Do the vocals throw you off compared to previous works (this is more screamy, less sloppy) or is this your first experience with them? Because I couldn't believe my ears the first time I heard The Monitor, thinking it was total garbage, then one day out of nowhere he grew into one of my favorite frontmen.

haha yeah, I understand. took me forever to appreciate the vocals w/ this band. if you check out the monitor you'll probably appreciate this album more, although to me they're both masterpieces.

If you think this is like Springsteen be sure to check The Monitor (if you haven't already)
