According to the general consensus, it's at the same level of album of the year. Are you sure of that?

AOTY is better, no doubt about that from my side.

Much like the most recent At the Gates album, I basically tried to force myself to like this. But the only reason I have to listen to this now is the hope that maybe something would finally click, but that's never the case. I'm just bored by it. A few songs are solid enough, but not worth wading through the rest of the album to get to the stuff I find to just be "ok."

Well said. There are other albums I would rather force myself to like.

I like AOTY way more than this. They have a legendary legacy, no sense in adding anything else to it.

I think ATG is a good pointer. That last album sucked HARD. Where as this was OK. Im allright with it. Didnt do too much damage, Was enjoyable in parts but dont go to the well too often.

Some tracks on here I consider classic FNM material, namely Cone of Shame, Separation Anxiety and Black Friday. The other songs range from enjoyable to great.

They definitely played it safe on this album, but it has its moments. "Superhero" is a jam and a half.
