Lol, I've yet to sit down and listen to the whole thing I've been so busy, but ween cover, higher, secret sciences and failure are all fantastic. Truth and stars re-recordings were not as good as the original versions

Truth, unnecessary, yes. Stars is glorious as ever though.

I personally think Truth was a great way to start it, its the perfect example of his older style fused with the newer production style which follows through during the rest of the album. I kind of agree about stars but I still enjoy the track.

From the Heart is probably my favorite though at the moment, or the title track.

Truth is a great opener obvs but the original is just perfect (I don't really care about technicalities of production, just how it sounds to these ears), so much more epic. Do like the added outro though, nice touch.

Stars was going beautifully until I reached the climax of the song only to find Dev had removed some of the most passionate screams I'd heard him do in 20+ yrs :/ boner instantly killed

I haven't listened to either of those yet Mork, so I'm happy if the best is still to come

I'll have to go back and jam the original version of stars, I only heard it once back when he first did the Toontrack thing, I will admit that the riffs didn't stand out as much in the new version which was a disappointment, that riff in the chorus rules.

I won't put any spoilers about those tracks but I think you'll dig them.

The programmed drums kinda sucked on the toontrack version. Snare was way too loud.

Oh yeh I forgot to whine about how muffled the guitars are in the final version too, some really nice licks in there that just don't stand out any more. Drums are obvs better as RVP is a beast (he seems to get better every record) but prefer most of the original song with a few tweaks, wish he released it as a demo on the bonus CD.

Thanks for the heads up G, so looking forward to listening.

Secret sciences has been stuck in my head all week

Those backing vocal lines on the Ween cover were a stroke of genius from Dev, perfect album closer

so on the official release version Anneke does lead vox at the beginning of Fallout, but the Spotify version of the album features the version with Devvy on vox? Which is weird since he said he liked her version better (and the CDs feature her on vox??). This is weird.
