This was so close to a 4.5 on first listen, which I barely ever do nowadays. A good part of this albums's whole second half drags [2] though....

Been jamming this a lot recently. Honestly I think I like this album more than Messe, maybe even more than Bergtatt too.

This is excellent, but the second half does drag. I don't have that issue with Blood Inside, Shadows, or even Messe.

Blood Inside and Wars of the Roses are too short to be able to drag, Shadows is their only post-trilogie album that has no issues with pacing or length for me.

If you don't skip Stone Angels, Wars of the Roses drags like hell.
