It's the drummer of the band, so i think the dramatic effect is about the same.

I loathed this when i first heard it. I'll probably give it another spin soon. It's probably at least a little better than I remembered

yeah I don't know this seemed like the most "stock U2" thing ever and the release tactic didn't help, I do like "Sleep Like a Baby" though

"Most stock U2 thing ever"

This is a fair description. It's probably the most generic they've ever sounded. It was better than i remembered but it's also pretty lifeless at times

The back half (or at least from volcano onwards) is stronger than the first half

Why couldn't they have just left the record sleeve cover like we got with the iTunes download. This one gives me the willies every time I have to look at it.

Bonus tracks Lucifer's Hands and The Crystal Ballroom are amazing songs, everyone who liked this or wanted more should check them out. The acoustic versions of some of the songs are really nice too.

I'm just a basic b who loves his U2 music and Apple products so no problem from my end, but I understand people's concerns about privacy, even though it was just meant to be a gift.

New (edit: I'm an idiot and meant to say) single is an absolute embarrassment.
