"As of now, Opeth are suck in the '70s with a broken time machine"

Good review Mongi, but you might wanna fix the last sentence...unless that's what you meant. :-D

Agree on the review. It's a great album but it's not overly unoriginal for Opeth. Maybe a good thing?

I liked Heritage. Besides a few songs or moments further in, I can't take this seriously.

"Opeth have been toying around with a hit-or-miss sound straight out of the '70s"

Following in the footsteps of his sidebitch Steven I see

@Mongi123 "biased of what exactly? I'm not the only one who thinks this is a boring take on 70s prog you know"

To me it sounds like you are bashing the album more then giving a listener insight. The descriptions in the negative
criticisms are far more vivid then the positives. What you like about the album is explained very mildly. I'm just saying it
definitely deserves some more credit for what the music actually, but I respect your opinions and can understand where
you are coming from. I believe this album takes a lot to digest in my opinion, such as Heritage.

It's weird, great original bands always end up trying to copy their influences as they get older.

@Pajamas as true as that is, a 3.0 review might as well be a negative review because it's Opeth, so of course it'll focus on the negatives more

Choccy has a good point. While this has a lot of flaws there's no bad songs and is an improvement over Heritage, all these reviews read like 2s or 2.5s

This is anything but an improvement over Heritage.

PC is more dynamic and engaging but Heritage is less embarrassing and more unpredictable so they're about the same

Eternal Rains alone is better than all of Heritage

Eternal Rains is a good ELP rip off but it's got nothing on the top 3 or 4 songs on Heritage.
