Oh yeah a lot of people would agree that the band is instrumentally solid but Fred is the weak point, mainly with his lyrics (see: Boiler, Eat You Alive, etc.). His ability to switch between screaming and singing is something that aspiring metal vocalists should pay attention to though because he was surprisingly good at that. Still excellent at it live too, his voice has barely changed which proves he's got fantastic technique and voice management (which he presumably learned from Jonathan Davis and Scott Weiland who coached him during the Significant Other era).

Yeah My Way is one of their best songs, if not their best. Meaningful lyrics plus incredible instrumentation.
Eat You Alive might have strange lyrics, but man that song owns.
