First time I heard it I only really dug Paper Hats, the rest was way too abstract but thinking within the context of the record, and the fact that it's just a grower in general has made it become a real favourite lately. Glad you like it!

I've always liked ambitious metal groups, Dream House and the title track just perfectly encapsulate everything I look for in the genre (which admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of nowadays)

I think people try to pull too much from this. Structurally it's nothing people make it out to be. If it's supposed to be transcending I'll just listen to noisecore.

Fair enough mate.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable in the bm world but the principles of what form that style of music are shat on by the likes of this band and their 'ambition' in creating 'art'

I'll stop now because I'm irritating myself!

I'll spin em in your honour pal.

Incidentally back in me youth I thought metal was Beavis and Butthead schoolboy drivel it's only as I grew up I actually got it and it blew me away. I really did miss out being the angsty/alt rocky teen I was back in the day. bm has always been a bit much though.

"my only problem is the lyrical intent is so fucking pretentious, dramatic, and whining. It ruins the vast majority of this music which is otherwise very impressive"

the music really isn't anything out of the ordinary. and yea the vocals are fucking terrible agreed

based on what the actual lyrics are, I'd think, in the bands mind, they wanted them to be something quite significant...which is funny cause it aids in making this album significantly shit

"I'm dying."

- "Is it blissful?"

"It's like a dream."

- "I want to dream."

the guy even said he put this in because he thought it sounded good, and it actually sound pretty damn good; also, it's a personal experience he had
