I should've known that would set off Mongi's alerts lol, don't worry I probably won't. Relistening to some PT now after a long time and it's actually just as good as before.

@Talons great to see you got into classic prog!

@Torontian: Even if I bumped down my rating for this even more than I already have it'd still be higher than yours...
@Oni: I just gave a few of the best albums from Floyd and Rush a try and was already a big Yes and King Crimson fan and
realized how influential they were on bands like this, this album especially brings a certain prog classic to mind...

Well... yeah... Now you need Genesis, Jethro Tull, Camel, Gentle Giant and Van Der Graaf Generator and you got all the essentials. :P But even from underground prog there's an indefinite amount of gems...

Album Rating: 4.5 | Sound Off
Yeah, there's a ton of great prog out there, especially when we're talking the 70's.

I made it so more emphasis was placed on my favorite albums. A 3 now for me is the equivalent of the average 3.5-4. I explain it better in my "favorite bands" section on my profile.

wo, torontonian, just saw that you changed your rating system. Whatever fits you, but, whoa, this many 2.5's and 3's and even 2's make me feel weird, even if I know it's acording to your rating system.
Anyway, a PT album as the only 5 saves you! :P

ik what you mean, just understand that I highly enjoy all my 3's and L O V E 3.5+ album!
|
| |
A PT album as his only 5 is what ruins the whole system.
|
| |
In all seriousness though, it's really the most logical system. I enjoy all my 3's and love my 3.5's too.
Talking about my ratings on RYM, not just my 50 2014 ratings on here.

I jam anything 3.5 and above and I really enjoy my 3.5s too. Occasionally I'll give my 3s another chance too.

Wow, tor. I have a similar rating system but i think my 3 is your 2.5. I have a lot of low ratings but I literally think a 3.5 makes a good album, even though most people will disagree with me
|
| |
A 3.5 is better than a good album.

Album Rating: 4.0
Nah, a 3 is an album with songs that don't annoy me and are ok to hear in the background, but not something I'd want to listen to in my own time. Most albums fall into this category, whereas a 3.5 will have 3-4 great songs on it too
|
| |
We have totally different rating systems then.
A 3.5 for me is usually consistently great, maybe with just a couple of weak moments.
An album with 3-4 great songs (assuming it has like 10 songs in total and not just 5 songs or something) would probably be a 2.5 for me, unless the rest was consistently good.
