I've just checked this. I can't believe I hadn't heard of them before.
It's like Beirut, but in so many ways better.
Dreams of Cannibalism is impeccable.

This is by far my favourite album of 2013. Heard them first on NPR Tiny Desk, and was blown away. Your review helped me appreciate Common Sentiments and Post Script a little more, because for me the album ended with Hunger & Thirst...the single best opening to a song I've heard for a long while. Excellent review.

Ugh I'm nearly fiving it. The sort of homogeneous vocals are keeping me from it though.

Initial thoughts are its a little muddled. Vocal style feels repetitive and static. No song really hooks me. Lacks a good flow. Too many instruments too many tracks. They need tighten it up a bit reduce the reverb and echo and booming drums. Doesnt suit the style. Get a more clear focus. And overall a little dull. This is on first impression will keep listening and who knows may improve with multiple play throughs.

Wonderful album. I'm disappointed I just randomly stumbled across this band recently. Their NPR Tiny Desk Concert on Youtube is wonderful and shows what a cohesive and talented group they are.

This sound and style usually irritates me, but the songs are well written enough to tolerate
