I knew that but I was talking about parts where he did lead without Layne singing with him

And yeah like I said, can't tell between him and DuVall but I knew he sang a lot

This is probably sacrilegious, but I think I may prefer this over Black Gives Way to Blue now that

I've spinning it more lately. The heavier songs on here tear up the ones on Black, and the softer

tunes hold up quite well, too. Favorite songs are probably Hollow, Title track, Low Cieling, and

Phantom Limb.

It is more homogenous than Black GWTB, there is no really weak song on this album.

BGWTB is a better record in so many ways

just as underwhelming as their last album. at this point, if the really need to, they should just make one more album to call it even and quits.

as long as Jerry keeps pumpin out the riffs, they can go as long as they want.

i'd love to see Duvall have a bigger presence/more lead vox spots on their next album. they need to lay off the "always doubled vocals".. they get a little monotonous after awhile on these past two records

This definitely seemed like a natural progression from BGWTB.

You mean basically a rehash with a slight spin?

Compared to BGWTB this definitely sounds denser and sludgier for some reason

Objectively it's pretty much the same considering the changes they went through at the beginning. There was a lot of change in their first 3 albums, but between this and BGWTB there is relatively nothing. My guess is that they'll stick to this sound until they're done for good.

i agree in regards to it being the same as BGWTB. it just seems uninspired and drawn out, although the singles have better hooks.
