So does anyone have any standout tracks on this? It seems like it's avoided like the plague lol. I think the title track is superb, The Great Sleep despite it's formulaic nature still bangs, Spectacle has been a live staple for years, All that Awaits is a fantastic closer.
Oh yeah, Echoes of Despair is godly, and Keep the Silence is also pretty good overall, just slow starting.
I'm considering bumping this up a .5. It helps doing an alternate tracklist for this.

There is, but this still slaughters most of it. Theres some great modern DM, Katalepsy being probably the best, but 99/100 modern dm are literally humbled by this

Most modern dm sound either exactly the same as one another or just as a ripoff of the old school dm bands, Immo have maintained their own sound I feel.

There is plenty of innovative and good shit happening. Yeah there are some ripoffs but if u genuinely feel that 99/100 of modern bands are worse than this album, you're either too lazy or stubborn to check good news stuff or are a legit osdm elitist snob

Or just someone who doesn't see things the way you do. Imagine that though, someone with different opinions! I have listened to literally over a thousand post-2010 death metal albums I would estimate, and yeah there's some good stuff, but the vast majority of it is derivative. If you even try and tell me that over 10% of current death metal is completely innovative you're either too lazy or stubborn to check or are a legit new death metal elitist snob
