As much as I like "Disposable Heroes," the album Ride the Lightning would be my favorite of Metallica's.

Despite how popular Justice is, there are some damn underrated songs on it. Eye of the Beholder is fantastic

One of my favourites on this.

whole album is gold, except for shortest straw, wtf.

And album doesn't need Cliff, Jason lines in the AJFJ are gold. What album needed was to cut the fat in a couple songs and better bass sound

it doesn't need cliff for sure but imagine the potential. he's always been my fav metallica member, even when i was young and didn't play bass at all

i agree though the only thing that drags this down is the girth of some of the songs

Yeah, I agree about the whole "cutting the fat" thing. Pretty crazy how some people are driven to give this a 2 or 2.5 because of that one flaw though.

you do realize that cliff did more than just write basslines though right?

This used to be my fave Metallica album, but now all 4 of their first albums are tied for me. Such great stuff

yeah. KEA's finest moments are some of the best thrash ever, but a few songs on it are kinda bland in comparison

Still great though. Four Horsemen still destroys Mechanix, although I like the speed of the latter

I actually like KEA slightly more than this, but only by a little.

Recently I've been thinking this is the best Metallica album, it's so progressive and raw and has all the best elements of their sound here. Too bad you can't hear the bass though

Kill 'Em All is way better than this.
