That ten minute Heep song really should have been on the standard edition.

Agreed MSLG. Uriah Heep tend to fly under the radar a lot of times but their 1970-72 run is extremely solid.

I read that at the time Cozy died, Dio and Blackmore were planning a reunion album with him, that would've been sooooo good

That would have been something indeed considering Stranger in Us All is excellent.

Where has this band been my whole life?

It's never too late dude. First album of theirs you checked?

Pm The best thing both Blackmore and Dio have ever done
|

Best thing Dio has done for sure. As for Blackmore that would be In Rock

This is also my favorite album with Dio on vox even though I don't think it's his best vocal performance. His best performance for me it's either on Holy Diver or The Last in Line.
Regarding Blackmore, my favorite album and performance on his is on Machine Head but you can't go wrong with either this one or any of Deep Purple's big 3.

Yeah just heard a couple of songs off this. Been into Dio and Sabbath for years but for whatever reason I've never properly checked this out. I'll probably try and pick it up sometime this week.

Regarding Blackmore's best work, Made in Japan is way ahead of this for me. I'd also rank a couple of other Purple albums above this.

I don't like to compare live and studio albums, but as for the rest of DP studio albums, I can see why a blues fan like you, Jamie, would prefer them over this; this has to be Blackmore's less bluesy classic album.
As for me, this totally has his best riffs and solos, but yeah, what manosg said it's true, pretty much anything he did in the 70's is classic
