Never listened to Enslaved before this album, enjoyed it a lot. I want to dig a bit deeper into their discography, any suggestions on where to start?

@Dropdead: It depends what era of the band you're more interested in. For their earlier albums in the 90's I would suggest Vikingligr Veldi, Frost or even the Hordanes Land EP. Then there's their gradual transition from Black metal to a more progressive direction, in which case you should try 'Mardraum:beyond the Within' or 'Monumension'. Ever since 'Below the Lights' the band have been eschewing their black metal roots and making more and more room for progressive rock and metal influences (which has proved to be very divisive amongst the fanbase, believe it or not). A good examples of the latter would probably be 'Below the Lights' or 'Isa'.

I'll take that as a compliment Riff. Remember I have reviewed bands before you are fond of though.

I really liked this at first....but the more I listen to it the less I like it. Right now, it is sitting around a 3~3.5. Maybe I should wait a bit and listen to it some more.....or that might just get me to lower the rating more.

I've listened to the seer, and find it just as good as Riitiir. Besides, I'm a big fan of both Enslaved and Swans...

Less shitty than previous albums is not progressive. They do nothing here that is new, innovative, pushes the boundaries of the genre. You guys throw around the term 'progressive' so much it's about as meaningless as the spaghetti mess of metal categories (screamo-emo-gorilla-death-mosh-core) constantly being dropped.

It's like going around saying "hitler is best". The first time, someone might have had a reaction. After that you're just a jerkoff tossing it out there for lack of anything original to say.
