they didn't play avalyn in atlanta, but they opened up with "slowdive" which is one my favs so it was alright
well they actually never got to perform any of Pygmalion live until they got back together, so i think they really enjoy finally being able to perform those tracks
the demos are gorgeous as well, some are really trippy and out there

yes! i'm not sure if you saw them too, but i gotta say it was one of the more memorable sets I've ever seen as far as stage presence goes. The twins did all kinds of odd moves onstage, and at one point they even went into the crowd and started hugging people lol.
all the antics aside the music was great too. i ended up buying a few tapes of theirs
|
| |
yeah i got a tee lol. they were cute dude im bummed i missed out on the hugs, they did that in north carolina too. their drummer was sick

word. yeah i was close to the front, just not at the right spot to get a hug.....
drummer was dope, he just lit up that little kit track after track. One thing that is a little disappointing about their albums is that it's not the same drummer, but most of it is still pretty good.
|
| |
yeah i was bummed about that too, sounds like some pretty conventional drum programming compared to what they played live. it's still catchy stuff tho, sleepwalking is dope, that chorus had me pumped

Checking this now and I am LOVING the Talk Talk vibes.

i've seen some people diss this album as a Talk Talk rip-off
you can hear the influence, but this album does more than enough to sound different
|
| |
yeah i was just on the rym page for this and i saw the comparisons. this is much more isolated and meandering than talk talk

revels in the build ups without the climaxes

the opener was the only really Talk Talk-esque track tbh. Enjoyed the album a lot overall though it's gonna have to sink in, I could see this being my favorite Slowdive.

It's easily, and I mean easily, the best Slowdive Boney

Album is the best thing this side of 'Laughing Stock', I think there are more similarities than just the opener

It's easily, and I mean easily, the best Slowdive [2]

I've never heard much Talk Talk in this, it's very different in terms of mood and some of the instrumentation, but there's a little similarity I guess.
