"Dark Bird is incredible, so is this. People who try to marginalize his recent outings don't seem very open to him modifying his sound in the slightest."

That's exactly how I am. I loved TMOE for the kind of music he was already playing. I'm not really interested in hearing a different sound from him. I don't fault him for it, and he's still a great lyricist, but I don't dig DBIH at all.

I hate what he has done to Wind and Walls live with his touring band, but the rest of the re workings are phenomenal! Especially King of Spain.

Also, Mr Noyce who is part of the touring band has the most gorgeous voice. No wonder he is one Justin Vernon's favourite musicians.

Is that the kid who plays every instrument under the sun? I remember being kind of blown away by one of his backing musicians, so it must've been him

InfamousGrouse, yep that's the fella, he is a very talented young man. He toured solidly with Bon Iver over their first two albums, but had a lot to do with the production of Dark Bird is Home, so enjoying this album cycle I'd say.

Love this album, I love Dark Bird too.

Dark Bird took some growing though, when I first heard it, it was so different than what I had come to expect, my first instinct was to hate it.

Then I saw Kristian live, and he played some songs off Dark Bird, and I thought, what the hell have I been missing? These are great.

After the show I listened to Dark Bird again and realized it's a great record, you just have to be open minded about it and not expect The Wild Hunt 2.0 or something.
