This is probably one of the best albums released in the past 5 years... just great from start finish. I like how the review is split up into acts; TBTs suck, but this isn't one.

I thought the same for the first month I had it. Then it just lost its shine to me.

Nah it's definitely a TBT I just did it in paragraph form. I was going to re-write it but can't be bothered. For the new one I'm thinking of mixing a tbt like this with an overall one, but I don't want to to be half as long as this. This beast is like 2400 words

more hype = more money (and possibly more awesomeness)

November 6.
I don't really think theyre getting any more money for Fortress, but it's a lot less forced than Kezia from what I know. A lot heavier, too. The 4 songs I've heard, structurally, remind me of Kezia + Gorod + Dillinger Escape Plan. This Message Edited On 08.23.07

Kezia + dillinger sounds sick... who's Gorod? I can't wait for the new album.
I just can't get into the release before this though, the production is so bad.

The production on A Calculated Use of Sound is not bad at all. At all.
And considering Rody's voice was in the middle of changing and it was written when they were 16, it's really solid. Look through my reviews for Gorod, I reviewed both of their albums. This Message Edited On 08.23.07

That actually kind of makes sense. Glad you like it though.
Saw 'em again on Saturday (doesn't cost me anything so why not) and got to see two of the new songs again. I'm really impressed (and im not just saying that as a lame fanboy) with how fast they evolve. Rody was pretty ill (sick, unwell), but managed to do a lot of his newly honed harsh growls nonetheless. Anyways yeah, I'm a gushing fanboy and really looking forward to the new shit the more I hear it/see it.

Tried the old album again, and again the production pisses me off. Gorod sounds interesting, though I'm not a big death metal fan.

Gorod rules. And seriously, the production on ACUOS is totally fine...I mean, given the fact that they were a bunch of 16 year olds when it was first released.
It got re-released and slightly remastered two years ago, plus it had a bonus track (Soft Targets) that you could only get on a sampler before.

Ahhh ok... I'll have to look for the remaster. I've probably been listening to the first version.

Does it have 6 or 7 tracks? And the 'remastering' isn't really noticeable.

I have a couple of random questions; sorry everyone for posting this here, but Sputnik won't let me post questions in the forums where it's supposed to be asked.
1. I noticed that you can have a different picture when you post comments than your profile one. How is this done?
2. Can you and how do you change your user name?
Once again, sorry everyone!
