Alright. I just don't see how people could claim to know the inner workings of Davis' mind, questioning his motives and making assumptions as to why he's doing this or that. Since the debut album, he and the band have proven to be very forward-thinking with the progression of sound that has taken place and the various new elements they've incorporated.

List off the dubstep/metal hybrid bands to date that have reached this level of heightened popularity.

Korn is like Pacsun and hot Topic, they cater to their 13 year old fans/customers, are spineless and
will morf into whatever is a sellable/profitable package to them at any given moment.

I just searched google, haven't found any bands that play metal with dubstep over it.

I agree but like Aso said we can't know what Korn was really thinking

Oh, I hadn't read the interview where that was mentioned. I see where you're coming from now...

Anyway. The point is that with this album, Korn is taking a creative risk. They will lose fans. Will the popularity of dubstep earn them new fans to make up for those lost? Probably. Will enough people enjoy this mix of genres to make Korn more popular than before? We don't know that. There is no previous examples to base that on. You're acting as if he's taking some guaranteed path to multi-platinum success and widespread critical acclaim.

How is that selling out?? This album is just Korn trying something out. This is just like any other band who used to play metal and now changed their style, you'll always get the "only metal" fans saying they sold out.

Andcas have you considered you might be too close minded to (or idiot should I say) to let Korn do something different?

Seriously, if they were selling out, they'll do whatever their fans asked them to do.

How are they trying something new out??? They latched on, or at least tried, to the biggest names in
the pop culture dubstep community to collaborate or help produce the record. If they wanted to be
"original" why didn't they do it themselves?

Agreed, creating stale corporate music to feed drug addictions

Yeah, stale is a good word for it. "Narcissistic Cannibal" is nothing more than a carbon copy of that one song I've been hearing on the modern rock radio station for the past 5 years.

Hahaha, wow. You folks are beyond all reason. I suppose they've gotta start playing obscure music with newly invented instruments that have never been put to record in order for them to be doing something genuine, meaningful, creative or original.

WARNING: Any further comments directed towards you on this topic will likely only be made in attempt to ridicule you. Feel free to end the conversation.

How is narcissistic cannibal creative? You're argument is that in since it's different in terms of Korn's past work that it's original overall which is stupid. I could be an expert painter with oil but if I chose to do watercolors all of a sudden am I a pioneer in watercolor painting?

BTW my room mate and a few friends DJ house and dubstep so I'm somewhat exposed to the scene, this
isn't quality electronica music at all.

If you combined oil and watercolor in a way that hasn't really been done yet? Yes, you would be.

Right because Dubstep Metal already existed which makes it totally unoriginal... And stop with the "bow out" bullshit, if they want to make music, let them, who are you to tell them what they should or should not do.

Collaborating with other people is just a way to melt the two genres, with the "best" from the two.

If that's how you see it that's fine, but this is nothing more then a stunt to capitalize on the dubstep trend that I pray fades out soon.

And while I think collaborations in some sense are great, it's also a cop-out to hide who has real talent.

Good job you've found one Andcas!

Clearly you don't like dubstep JWT155 so you can't like this album... But that's not a reason to say that this is selling out.

When NU Metal came out, they didn't sell out did they?
