just watched the movie The Namesake. A disturbed teenager was blasting Once so he didn't have to talk to his dad and it was pretty hilarious

Sweet.
YoYo, go vote on that list I mentioned if you haven't.

Easy for you to say Ed but it's pretty hard to forget a thing like Jezza blowing his head off during double Maths.

All about the atmosphere with this one, although it took me time to realize that.
McCready's lead work def has to do with my love for this album, but, at the end of the day, it comes down to the atmosphere.

So this is pretty good, a lot softer than the other grunge I've listened to. The vocals are really catchy

Porch is such a jam.
Also Even Flow is sweet, as cliché as that is
|

Black is the best here.

Surprised to see you like this RotM.
And yeah, whole thing rules but Why Go is my fave on
here, partly because I've heard it
less than the singles.
Why Go
Once
Alive
Even Flow
Jeremy
Black
Garden
Release
Porch
Oceans
Deep
Oceans is the only one I don't remember well on here.

I think Once was the first song I heard of Pearl Jam's that I really 'got'. Evenflow had its cool riff, and Jeremy is Jeremy, but the way Vedder spits out "Once upon a time" you can feel the literal madness behind the lyrics.
|
| |
Yeah, Once is one of my all-time fave openers, if not my fave.
Cherub Rock gives it a run for its money though.
|
| |
Hmm, I definitely have to say Welcome to the Jungle is my all-time favourite opener because it's both thematically and musically a brilliant way to start off the album.
However, I'd have to give some thought to the non-AfD class of openers.
