god the drums on this sound so badass
ive been trying to figure out if they are triggered since the first time i heard this record. it sounds obvious at first but every so often some tone shows up that a trigger definitely cant reproduce and im like "wtf am i hearing"

triggered = electronic pads on the drums that register the hits instead of recording the acoustic
sound of drums. basically turns a real set into an electric one.
triggers killed metal production but sometimes it doesnt sound bad. i think the bass drum is
triggered and the snare isnt here though, there are points where you can tell the snare isnt
triggered.

Adding to Hyperion description: Also, triggers HELP the drummer sound more fast and precise, because if he gets tired he isnt going to hit with the same strenght, so if he hits a tad weaker, triggers help that hit to sound hard.
