Yeah, I had to put Artist In The Ambulance on after finishing with this record. Just to remind myself of how fucking insanely awesome they truly are and to instill some hope within myself that this is a just a fluke. After listening to "Paper Tigers" and "Blood Clots And Black Holes", it's just hard to listen to this uncomfortabley Creed-esque, bland, upbeat arena rock.

Fuck, I just turned it on and it's growing on me. Now I'll have to look foolish in front of all you fine folks and swallow my pride if I want to raise my rating. We'll see, though. I'm only on "Blinded" and "Cataracts" is where the album lost me last night.

Cataracts has been a low point for some I've read but I've read that many liked it more after repeated
listens.

I misspoke earlier; "Blinded" and "Cataracts" are the two boring songs. I just listened to "Call It In The Air" and it's incredible. I could see this album settling in after a few listens. It's just not as overtly melodic and hard as Beggars.
Felix, I just have a soft spot for "Paper Tigers." It was one of the first songs that made me take notice of Thrice. I think "Under A Killing Moon" and "Abolition Of Man" are fucking phenomenal too.

Yellow Belly rapes Face.
So does Anthology and Call it in the Air.
Really good and this is usually not my kind of music.

I can't rank any songs off this, my initial least engaging tracks have gone on to become some of my favorites, this album and band slay way too hard...Cataracts rules though just to give that song a bump

Aiiight album is prettttyyyy pretty good. Dustins lyrics are incredible as always, but they have less instrumental breakdowns which I found so awesome about beggars. also theres still a couple songs im not into (yet). But, that being said, Words in the water might be my favourite thrice song ever. Bumpin it to a 4 but I dont think itll climb higher.
